Hi, I’m Mary Ann Benoit — an energy artist, interior designer, wildlife biologist, and Alaska’s only certified color strategist.
I create transformational digital energy art and design spaces that help people align their homes with who they truly are.
My work brings together art, science, and energy to create environments that look beautiful, feel supportive, and reflect the direction you want your life to move.

Why I Create
I don’t create art simply to decorate a wall.
I create art to influence the energy of the spaces people live in.
Each piece contains symbolic imagery and intention designed to support the four energies of transformation:
Release
Attract
Connect
Evolve
My goal is to help people live in spaces that reflect who they truly are and the life they want to create.
Creating art and designing aligned spaces supports my own growth as well.
Each piece I create deepens my understanding of energy, symbolism, and how environments influence well-being. That learning then flows back into the work I share with others.
My Journey
I’ve been drawn to creating things for as long as I can remember, exploring hands-on creative forms such as stained glass, jewelry making, alcohol ink art, and other crafts that transform simple materials into something meaningful.
I earned a degree in Interior Design, studying how color, form, and space shape the way people experience their environments.
But my path didn’t move in a straight line.
Living close to wild landscapes awakened a desire to work more deeply with nature, so I returned to school and earned a degree in Wildlife Biology. I began my career as a wildlife biologist in Arizona and later Alaska, working closely with ecosystems and natural habitats.
Those years changed the way I see the world. Natural systems operate through balance, relationships, and energy—and those same principles apply to our lives and the spaces we live in.
Movement was also an important teacher in my life. For many years I have taught Tai Chi and dance, practices that explore balance, energy, and expression through movement.
I spent decades exploring symbolic traditions such as tarot and oracle systems, deepening my understanding of how imagery, intention, and environment influence human experience.
When I discovered digital art, it opened a new door, giving me ways to express energetic patterns and ideas that traditional methods had never allowed me to capture.
The threads of my life began to weave together—design, science, nature, movement, symbolism, and art.
That integration became Aligned Design. a unique approach that harmonizes art, color science, and energy awareness to create spaces that look beautiful and support you in becoming aligned with your true self.
What Makes My Work Different
Most interior design focuses only on aesthetics.
My work integrates three forces that shape how a space affects you:
Art
Original digital energy artwork designed to influence the emotional tone of a space.
Science
Color strategy based on measurable color relationships rather than guesswork.
Energy
Attention to the emotional and symbolic meaning of the images and objects surrounding you.
Together these elements form Aligned Design.
The Heart of Aligned Design
Everything is energy. Our environments influence us in ways both visible and subtle.
The colors we live with, the objects surrounding us, and the images we see every day shape how we feel and how we move through our lives.
When your environment is aligned with who you truly are, it becomes more than just a place to live. It becomes a partner in your healing, your growth, and your joy.
For me, energy art is not an afterthought—it’s the foundation. Because your space flows from that foundation, every color, texture, and layout choice emerges from the energy art we create together. It sets the tone for the entire space, creating a visual and energetic anchor that supports the life you want to create. Every design choice flows from that center.
Your space should feel like a sanctuary. A place where you can breathe deeply, feel seen, and remember what really matters. It should uplift you, nurture you, and call you back to your essence—again and again.
That’s the heart of Aligned Design.
Some people simply collect the artwork. Others choose to collaborate with me to create a custom piece that helps guide the energy and direction of their space.
A Few Things You Might Not Know About Me
- I didn’t plan to become a digital artist—it happened during a 100-day art challenge that I never stopped. What started as a commitment to create daily became a lifestyle… and a calling.
- I live in Seward, Alaska, in a small home filled with energy, color, and one very opinionated cat named Clementine—who insists on being involved in all creative decisions.
- I feed a flock of wild crows, jays and pigeons who visit daily. One of them, a Stellar’s jay named Jay Jay, sings to me—and I’m pretty sure he’s a spirit guide.
- I’e adopted a pigeon who can not fly and showed up on my doorstep looking sad. His name is Birdboy.
- I spend a lot of time observing and connecting with the birds and wildlife around me. Animals have a lot to teach us if we slow down enough to notice.
- My art is shaped by movement and mystery. Tai Chi, Persian dance, sacred geometry, and ancient civilizations like Mu all leave their imprint on what I create.
