Connect: Art For Remembering Who You Are

The Four Energies of Transformation

We all move through seasons of growth. Sometimes gently. Sometimes through challenge. Over time, I’ve come to see that most of us cycle through four core energiesReleaseAttract, Connect, and Evolve. Sometimes they unfold in order. Sometimes they overlap. Sometimes we revisit one again and again.

Release creates space. Attract invites in what’s ready. Connect restores meaning and belonging. Evolve is the natural unfolding of who we are becoming. Each energy supports a different phase of transformation — both internally and in the spaces we live in. In this article, we’re exploring Connect—what it really means, how to recognize it, and how energy art can support you through it.

When you enter the Connect phase, something settles. You feel less alone inside your own life. A deeper sense of belonging begins to take root — within yourself, with the people who matter, with the natural world, and with something greater than you. What you’ve released and attracted starts to integrate into something meaningful and shared. Instead of striving or pushing forward, this stage invites steadiness. It helps you feel supported, grounded, and aligned with what truly matters.

What It Really Means to Connect

Connection means recognizing that you are part of something larger than yourself.

It’s about feeling:

  • at home in your own heart

  • supported in your relationships

  • grounded through nature

  • aligned with the greater rhythms of life

To connect is to remember:

  • who you truly are

  • who and what matters most to you

  • that you belong — and always have

When your space reflects that energy — through color, art, and intention — it becomes easier to live from that place every day.

How You Know You’re in the Connect Phase

You may be in a Connect phase if:

• You’ve been through change and now crave steadiness rather than expansion
• You want deeper conversations instead of surface ones
• You feel called to reconnect — with yourself, with someone you care about, or with nature
• You’re longing for meaning more than momentum
• You feel the need to protect your energy and nurture what truly matters
• You sense that belonging — not achievement — is what your heart is seeking

Connect doesn’t always arrive loudly.Often, it feels like a quiet remembering. A soft return to what has always been true.

This collection is about connection—to yourself, others, the natural world, and the universe. Each glowing, ethereal piece begins with a digital art base and is overlaid with sacred geometry and symbols: a fractal heart and the Flower of Life. These elements amplify the energy of each piece, creating a visual reminder of the beautiful, unseen web of life that links us all.

What Connect Energy Supports

The energy of Connect supports you in spaces where you want to:

  • deepen your relationship with yourself

  • strengthen bonds with others

  • feel grounded, present, and supported

  • reconnect with nature and natural rhythms

  • experience spiritual alignment and belonging

This energy doesn’t demand effort.
It invites presence.

How Energy Art Supports Connection

Art is energy made visible. It’s not just something you look at — it’s something you live with.

Each piece in the Connect Collection is intentionally created with purposeful color, symbolic overlays, and a focus on relational energy. When you bring one into your space, it becomes a quiet reminder to pause, listen, and remember what truly matters.

Over time, the art works in partnership with your own intention — gently reinforcing connection with yourself, with others, and with the world around you.

Release to Rise: What Letting Go Really Means—and How Energy Art Can Help

Release isn’t the end — it’s the beginning. Let your space and your spirit rise.

The Four Energies of Transformation

We all move through seasons of growth. Sometimes gently. Sometimes through challenge. Over time, I’ve come to see that most of us cycle through four core energies: Release, Attract, Connect, and Evolve.

In this article, we’re exploring Release — what it really means, how to recognize it, and how energy art can support you through it.

Release isn’t the end — it’s the beginning. When you let go of what no longer supports you, you create space to feel lighter, clearer, and more aligned — and to allow something new to rise.

We talk a lot about “letting go” — of clutter, stress, old stories, or patterns that no longer fit. But release isn’t about forcing change or fixing yourself. It’s about noticing what you’re ready to loosen and allowing your space to support that shift.

The Release Collection was created for those moments when life feels heavy, crowded, or out of alignment — and you sense that something wants to change, even if you don’t yet know what comes next.

Release doesn’t rush you. It doesn’t ask you to become someone else. It simply creates space —so you can move forward carrying less, and living more in alignment with where you are now.

What It Really Means to Release

Releasing doesn’t mean giving up. It means making space.

During a four-hour silent meditation, I received a message that became the heart of this collection: “For everything I release, something new and better will come.” That wisdom continues to guide both my life and my art.

Release is a conscious choice to free yourself from energy that no longer supports who you are now — without denial, judgment, or force.

You might be releasing:

  • limiting beliefs about what’s possible for you

  • emotional weight you’ve carried for too long

  • stories that no longer feel true

  • the pressure to be someone you’re not

  • physical or energetic clutter that creates stress in your space

On the other side of release is lightness.
Clarity.
Breathing room.

How You Know You’re in the Release Phase

You may be in a Release phase if:

• You feel emotionally or mentally heavy and can’t quite name why
• You’re suddenly aware that certain habits, roles, or expectations don’t fit anymore
• You crave simplicity — fewer obligations, less noise, more space
• You’re questioning old stories about who you “should” be
• You feel the urge to declutter — not just your home, but your life
• You sense something new wants to emerge, but first something must be let go

Release doesn’t always look dramatic.
Often, it’s quiet. Subtle. A deep exhale you didn’t realize you were holding.

Release #5 energy art by Mary Ann Benoit
Release what no longer serves. Rise into what’s calling.

What Release Energy Supports

The energy of Release supports spaces where you want to:

  • feel calmer and more grounded

  • soften emotional or mental clutter

  • move through transitions with steadiness

  • create room for healing, clarity, and renewal

This work doesn’t push or provoke.
It works quietly — like a deep exhale your body already knows how to take.

Place it where you reflect, reset, or breathe deeply. Let it support your own release—again and again.

How Energy Art Supports This Phase

Art is energy made visible. It’s not just something you look at — it’s something you live with.

The pieces in the Release Collection are created to hold the feeling of letting go: flowing forms, gentle dissolves, soft movement, and spaciousness. Each one is designed to support release in a way that feels safe, natural, and supportive over time.

Placed in a space where you pause, reflect, or reset, the art becomes a quiet ally — a reminder that you’re allowed to loosen your grip, and that release can be soft.

How To Enhance Your Space With This Collection

Release energy art works beautifully in spaces where you pause, reflect, rest, or reset.

You might place a piece from the Release Collection:

• In a bedroom to soften emotional weight at the end of the day
• In a meditation or journaling corner where you process and reflect
• In a living room where you want calm to replace tension
• Near an entryway as a reminder that you don’t need to carry everything inside

Choose artwork in colors that relax you and that feels like breathing room — softer tones, open space, gentle movement.

Release art works quietly. When your environment reflects spaciousness, your nervous system responds. And letting go begins to feel safe.

The Four Energies of Transformation: Release, Attract, Connect, and Evolve

What Does The Energy of Transformation Look Like?

Growth isn’t a straight line. It’s a dance, a cycle, a rhythm that moves us closer to who we truly are. Along the way, we find ourselves returning to familiar energies at different times in our journey. These four energies—Release, Attract, Connect, and Evolve—are the heartbeat of transformation.

They are not steps to check off a list. They are living energies that weave through our lives, guiding us gently but powerfully toward alignment with our authentic selves. When you understand which energy you’re moving through, you can start working with it.

Let’s explore these four energies and how they support your sacred journey. Know that your space—through thoughtful design and energy art—can be a powerful ally, supporting you in every stage of this beautiful cycle

Release: Letting Go to Rise

Transformation usually begins with letting go.

Release is about creating space. It’s the brave act of loosening our grip on what no longer serves us—old beliefs, outdated patterns, cluttered spaces, relationships, or even versions of ourselves we have outgrown.

Release is not about loss; it’s about freedom.

When we release, we lighten our load and make room for what is truly meant for us. We shift our energy from holding on to opening up.

Energy Art for Release helps anchor this sacred act of surrender, offering a visual reminder that letting go is a gift you give yourself.

Attract: Opening to Receive

Once space is made, a beautiful thing happens: we become magnetic.

Attract is the energy of invitation. It’s the quiet confidence that comes from knowing we are worthy of receiving love, abundance, joy, and all that aligns with our highest good.

Attract isn’t about striving or chasing. It’s about matching your inner energy to the frequency of what you desire. For most of us, that means attracting the things that truly nourish our lives—health, wealth, and love.

Energy Art for Attract holds the vibration of possibility, helping you cultivate openness and draw to you what your soul seeks.

Connect: The Heart of Belonging

Connection is the thread that ties it all together.

Connect is the energy of relationship—to self, to others, to the Universe. It’s remembering that we are not separate but part of something vast, beautiful, and interconnected.

Through connection, we find meaning, purpose, and the deep sense of belonging we all crave.

Energy Art for Connect helps you anchor into this truth, inviting deeper relationships, intuitive insight, and heart-centered living.

Evolve: Becoming Who You Are Meant to Be

When release, attraction, and connection begin to integrate, evolution naturally unfolds.

Evolve is the unfolding of your truest self. It’s the energy of growth, expansion, and stepping into your highest potential.

Evolving isn’t about becoming someone different—it’s about shedding layers that hide your brilliance.

Energy Art for Evolve supports this beautiful journey, carrying the energy of empowerment, clarity, and the courage to live authentically.

A Sacred Cycle

These energies—Release, Attract, Connect, and Evolve—aren’t a checklist. They’re a sacred cycle we move through again and again as we grow.

Sometimes we are called to release. Sometimes we are ready to attract. Other times, we are deepening connections or expanding into new versions of ourselves.

Wherever you are, trust that you are exactly where you need to be.

If you feel called to discover which energy is most present for you right now, I invite you to take my quiz:

Or simply explore the Energy Art Collections:

  • Release Energy Art for Letting Go and Lightening the Soul

  • Attract What You Are Ready To Welcome Into Your Life

And sometimes, we feel the need to embrace all these energies at once—to release, attract, connect, and evolve together. For those moments, explore the Sacred Journey: The Art of Alignment collection, a body of work created to integrate all four energies into one cohesive expression.

Your space. Your energy. Your journey.

When you align with the energy you need most, you align with your highest self.

And when you are aligned, life begins to move with you instead of against you.

What Are You Holding Onto? 5 Signs It’s Time to Release

5 Signs It’s Time to Release

We often think of letting go as something dramatic—an emotional goodbye, a ceremonial bonfire, maybe even some dramatic music playing in the background.
But real release? It’s quieter.
It’s that small, persistent whisper that says: this no longer fits.

Release isn’t about losing—it’s about creating space. Space for healing, clarity, and all the good things waiting to find you once you finally let go of what’s been weighing you down.

(Trust me: that old story you’ve been carrying? It’s heavier than you think.)

1. You Feel Stuck—No Matter How Hard You Try

You’re doing all the “right” things—vision boards, journaling, maybe even color-coding your planner—and still… crickets.
Sometimes it’s not about trying harder. Sometimes it’s about loosening your grip and making room for something better.
Release clears the runway so you can finally take off.

That wisdom continues to guide both my life and my art.

2. The Same Old Stories Keep Playing on Repeat

You know that playlist you’ve been looping in your mind? The one with all the doubts, fears, and what-ifs?
Yeah, it’s time to hit stop.
Release helps you retire the old soundtrack and write a new score—one that actually sounds like you.

Lightness lives on the other side of release.

3. Your Energy Feels Heavy or Scattered

You wake up tired even after eight hours of sleep. Your to-do list feels overwhelming. Your brain feels like a browser with 47 tabs open.
That heaviness isn’t laziness—it’s old energy hanging around past its expiration date.
Release it, and you might just find clarity (and your missing car keys).

Release #3 energy art by Mary Ann Benoit
Release #3 energy art by Mary Ann Benoit

4. You Find Yourself Clinging to What’s Comfortable, Not What’s Right

Sure, comfort zones feel cozy. (That’s why we like them.)
But they’re also where dreams quietly go to die.
If you’re staying just because it’s familiar, it might be time to trade comfort for courage.
Release helps you step into the unknown—where all the magic happens.

5. Deep Down, You Know

Even if you can’t explain it, there’s that little voice inside.
The one that gently (or sometimes not so gently) says: It’s time.
Spoiler alert: that voice is usually right.
Trust it. Release what no longer fits, and watch what opens up.

The Gentle Power of Release

Letting go isn’t giving up—it’s opening up.
It’s choosing to create space for what’s next. It’s trusting that lighter and clearer are not just possible but waiting for you.

That’s the energy behind my Release series—art created with flowing textures, soft dissolves, and sacred symbols like the Fractal Heart and Seed of Life.
Art that holds the vibration of surrender, healing, and new beginnings.

Because the more we release, the more we rise.

Saturday Night Live Art Shows-Aligned Energy Art- “Attachments”

https://youtu.be/XWjoUW9XyWA

Welcome to Saturday Night Live Art Shows ! I am Mary Ann Benoit and am with you tonight from Seward Alaska! So excited to be with you tonight to share some of my new Aligned Energy Art,, called “Attachments”, and three fractal art pieces I would like to share.

Thanks to Saturday Night Live Art Shows creator, artist Brooke Harker and her co-hosts Joan Marie of Joan Marie ArtSheryl Benjy, and Nichole McDaniel for making this possible.

Be sure to check out all the other artists from around the world,   having art shows in their Facebook and social media feeds at 6-9 pm in their time zones. Follow Saturday Night Live Art Shows on Facebook by searching #snlartshows.

Introducing “Attachments” Aligned Energy Art

Budda said “the root of suffering is attachment”.

I learned from my teacher Jim Fortin, that the biggest cause of suffering in our lives comes from our attachments, or expectations of the way we think things should be. When we don’t get what we want or how we want it, we are unhappy. Maybe we can release attachment to the idea of how things should be and just allow them to be what they are.

If they are not how we want or expect, maybe that is a good thing that is opening the door for something more wonderful to come into our lives.

This art was inspired by the energy of attachment in our lives and all the chords that bind us to the outcomes we expect and want.

As you can see, there are chords of attachment between every part of the design, creating one interconnected whole.

Although the greens and blues are colors of nature and often are calming and relaxing colors, these pieces have a sense of high energy because of all the endless linkages.

As I usually do, I created 2 more pieces to go with it, so you can see the movement between pieces and use three together over a sofa t create a focal point in a room.

How can you use Aligned Energy Art in your space?

If the message of “Attachments”, or future concepts I plan to create resonate with you, then adding art that is meaningful as well as beautiful is a great way to create your perfect space and remind yourself of what is important in your life each day when you see it.

Art like “Attachments”  can be added to your living room,  meditation, or workout area or wherever your intuition guides you to put it.

Because this art is digital, it can also be put on a variety of home decor products such as pillows, bedding, serving trays, coffee mugs, notebooks, and more. So you could think about “Attachments”   as you sip your morning coffee out of a “Attachments”  coffee mug while writing things you want to release your “Attachments”  journal, for example, drinking out of your travel cup on the way to work or doing yoga on a “Attachments”  mat.

Aligned Energy Art  is another layer of meaning beyond the visual beauty in creating your perfect space that is  aligned with who you want to be.

I created this Edesign, or virtual design as an example of how you could create a space using this art and express the energy of “Attachments”  in your space. Note the “Attachments”  fractal art on the framed canvases on the wall, the serving tray on the coffee table, the pillow on one of the chairs, and the place settings on the table.

What is Fractal Art?

Fractal art is digital art I create on my computer. I love creating fractal art because it allows me to work with brilliant colors, interesting textures, and incredible detail.   of the process. See examples at my store on Society 6 or Pixels.com. I also create mosaics of AI art and fractal art. See some examples in the video below.

Saturday Night Live Art Shows-Aligned Energy Art- “Release”

Welcome to Saturday Night Live Art Shows ! I am Mary Ann Benoit and am with you tonight from Seward Alaska! So excited to be with you tonight to share my new idea, called Aligned Energy Art and three fractal art pieces I designed to introduce it.

Introducing “Release” Aligned Energy Art

My latest fractal art, named “Release” was inspired by the idea of releasing all the things in our lives that do not serve us and make us feel heavy. One of my teachers, Jim Fortin, often repeats this quote from his mentor, DX, that “when you think too much, you make yourself heavy, and when you are heavy, you can not fly”.

What does that mean? We all have  things in our lives that make us feel heavy, uncomfortable, angry, resentful, and other ways that do not promote well-being.

They take our time and energy and stress us out. It might be things, like clutter, or things we do, or over-do that we really don’t enjoy or do to please others.

When was the last time you took an inventory of those things to see how many were really adding anything important or meaningful to your life?

https://northernlightsstaging.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Copy-of-release_video.mp4

I decided many months ago that I wanted to release things that were taking up too much of my time and causing me to feel stressed and overwhelmed. “Release” became my new motto, and favorite word.

I noticed, the more I released, the better I felt. Thinking about the word “Release” daily, helped me improve my well-being.

I was thinking about the concept of releasing things when I created this art.

As I described in my previous Saturday Night Art Show, creating fractal art, which is digital art, is like traveling through a kaleidoscope until you find the perfect spot to stop and then you can adjust any element you want.

The place I chose looks like a landscape filled with mountains and rivers from above, releasing the energy of the water and soil down to the ocean where you see it expanding out from there.

It has the colors of fall, and the energy of the changing of the seasons, when the trees release their leaves and transform themselves to be ready for winter.

It has the colors of nature and the earth, greens and browns, blues, yellow and orange.

The greens and colors of nature add a feeling of calmness and well-being, as if sitting in a beautiful forest. This is the feeling I want to have as a result of releasing what no longer serves me.

As I usually do, I created 2 more pieces to go with it, so you can see the movement between pieces and use three together over a sofa t create a focal point in a room.

How can you use Aligned Energy Art in your space?

If the message of “Release”, or future concepts I plan to create resonate with you, then adding art that is meaningful as well as beautiful is a great way to create your perfect space and remind yourself of what is important in your life each day when you see it.

Art like “Release” can be added to your living room, bedroom, meditation or work out area or wherever your intuition guides you to put it.

Because this art is digital, it can also be put on a variety of home decor products such as pillows, bedding, serving trays, coffee mugs, notebooks and more. So you could think about “Release” as you sip your morning coffee out of a “Release” coffee mug while writing things you want to release your “Release” journal for example, drinking out of your travel cup on the way to work or doing yoga on a “Release” mat.

Seasonal Living Design Challenge

Do you love bringing the outdoors in? I do too. A beautiful example is this Edesign I created for the Seasonal Living Design Challenge.

Participants were to design a space in a Modern to Modern Farmhouse higher-end residential home, containing at least 3 Seasonal Living products, and 2 seasons should be reflected in the use of each space. Spaces should emphasize the concept of “Wellness”.

Seasonal Living

Designing a space that enhances the use of outdoor space as well as indoor space and is usable for more than just one season of the year is wonderful for making the most of your space and your well-being.

Seasonal Living provides distinctive furniture and decorative accessories that invite people to connect with the outdoors and live in rhythm with the four seasons.

I believe my design is perfect for spring, summer, fall, and winter with its indoor and outdoor fire features and roof that covers the outdoor space.

Wellness

I believe the concept of wellness is critical in creating the perfect space for you. Wellness is about having a healthy environment that inspires peace and well-being. Bring wellness into your space in the following ways.

  • Color– Use the energy of color to bring peace, calm, well-being, or inspiration to your space.
  • Biophilia- Bring the outside in by creating a seamless interplay between the outside view and the interior. Use natural materials and elements in your space.
  • Art- Select art that has a meaningful message that inspires you whenever you see it.
  • Natural Materials- Use natural materials such as wood, metal, glass, wool, clay, stone, cotton, etc. for a healthy environment.
  • Light, Fire, and Sound- Let your space and yourself breathe in an area with plenty of light, fresh air, quiet, and the comfort of a fire in the fireplace.
  • Uncluttered space– Give yourself room to breathe, move freely and relax. Too much clutter feels chaotic and does not allow your eyes to rest.

Color

This design uses a primarily neutral color scheme interspersed with greens, blues, and yellows to harmonize with the outdoor landscape. The colors are peaceful, relaxing and give the feeling of relaxing in the forest. The walls are a very light green and the ceiling a light blue, to blend with the forest and sky increase the flow between outdoors and in.

Increase your wellness and well-being with relaxing natural colors, lots of light and fresh air, views of nature, using natural materials and incorporating and uncluttered space.

Biophilia

As humans, we want to be connected with nature and other living things such as people, animals, and plants.  This longing for “connection” with other life forms is called “biophilia”. See my article on biophilia for more details.

Some of the ways of doing that, which I incorporated in this design include:

  • Use natural and eco-friendly materials for building and decor. In this design, I used lots of glass, wood, wool, wicker, stone. Seasonal Living also uses natural and recycled material whenever possible.
  • Use indoor plants to provide a variety of colors, textures and improve your indoor air quality.
  • Use the colors of nature in your home, inside and out. The furnishings are primarily neutral colors, allowing the art, plants and accessories to add colors and textures to harmonize with the outdoor environment. The walls are green and ceiling blue to allow the eyes to rest and help the inside flow into the outside.
  • Use lots of strategically placed windows for an abundance of natural light and views.
  • Select art that enhances the energy you want to surround yourself with, inspires you and helps remind you who you want to be.

Art

Art can have a big impact on the energy of the space and how your feel in it.

  • Consider art that shows landscapes, plants, animals, or other natural elements that bring you joy and work with your design and color palette.
  • Consider art that tells the story of something important to your well-being. In this design, I used 2 of my recent fractal energy art series. The first, in shades of greens, is called “Release”. It not only portrays the release of the season of fall into winter but the release of all the things that no longer serve you or your well-being. Note the design in the wall art, pillows and tray on the coffee table.

“Release” Fractal Art

See my Saturday Night Live Art Show on my “Release” art to learn how it was made and more about the energy behind the design.  “Release” is all about releasing all the things in life that do not serve you or contribute to your well-being.

The greens and fall colors add a feeling of calmness and well-being as if sitting in a beautiful forest. This is the feeling I want to have as a result of releasing what no longer serves me. It works together perfectly with the exterior landscape and the Seasonal Living furniture.

“Attachments” Fractal Art

See my Saturday Night Live Art Show on my “Attachments” fractal art to learn more about these pieces. Buddha said that attachment is the root of all suffering. This art reminds us to release the attachment to outcomes and trying to control things, and let them be how they are meant to be.

The Experience

I enjoyed developing a design using Seasonal Living products and exploring the flexible concept of indoor/outdoor living. I love that their products are sustainable and created or inspired by artisans. I liked being about to meld it with my own fractal art and loved the experience of creating a design that flowed seamlessly between inside and outside and could be used in all seasons of the year.
